Car Rental Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions govern the use of car rental services provided through MarHire Car , in partnership with our carefully selected local car rental agencies in Agadir, Morocco. By renting a vehicle through our platform, you agree to the terms set out below, which apply to both MarHire Car Agadir and our partner agencies.

Driver Requirements and Age Restrictions

The driver must possess a valid driver’s license suitable for the category of vehicle rented.

  • The minimum age for most vehicles is 23 years.
  • For premium or high-end vehicles, the minimum age is 27 years.
  • Certain vehicles may require the driver to have held a valid license for at least 24 months.
    Specific driver eligibility requirements may vary depending on the vehicle. Please check the vehicle details on the home page for more information.

1. VEHICLE CONDITION

Upon both delivery and return of the vehicle, an inspection will be carried out by the renter and a representative from the rental agency. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was provided, excluding normal wear and tear. The renter will be responsible for any damages occurring during the rental period and may be charged for repair costs.

The renter is also responsible for keeping the vehicle clean. If returned in an excessively dirty state (inside or outside), a cleaning fee may be applied.
Vehicles will be supplied with a certain level of fuel, which will be documented at the start of the rental period. The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel, or refueling charges may apply.

The renter is responsible for keeping the vehicle clean during the rental period. If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty state (interior or exterior), a cleaning fee may be charged.

The vehicle will be provided with a specific amount of fuel, which will be documented at the start of the rental period. The renter is required to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel, or they will be charged for refueling costs.

2. MECHANICAL CONDITION

The renter acknowledges that the vehicle is in proper working condition when received. The renter is liable for any damage due to misuse or negligence, including engine or clutch damage, or harm to the vehicle’s electronic systems.
Repairs for breakdowns due to normal wear and tear, such as engine or brake issues, will be covered by the rental agency. The renter is responsible for monitoring the vehicle’s performance and must inform the agency if any warning lights (e.g., engine, oil, brakes) appear on the dashboard.

Repairs for breakdowns due to normal wear and tear (e.g., engine issues, worn-out brakes, etc.) will be covered by the rental agency. The renter will not be held responsible for these.

The renter must monitor the vehicle’s performance and notify the rental agency immediately if any warning lights (e.g., engine, oil, brakes) appear on the dashboard.

3. TIRES

The vehicle is provided with tires in good condition. The renter will be responsible for any tire damage during the rental period, excluding normal wear.
In the event of a punctured or damaged tire, the renter must replace it with a tire of the same brand and size at their own expense.
The vehicle is equipped with a spare tire, and the renter is responsible for returning the spare in good condition.

4. DOCUMENTS

The rental agency will provide all necessary documents for the legal operation of the vehicle (e.g., vehicle registration, insurance).
All documents must be returned at the end of the rental period. Failure to return these documents may result in administrative fees and daily charges until they are returned.
If any documents are lost during the rental period, the renter will be responsible for the cost of obtaining replacements.

5. PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS

The full rental payment must be made in advance, either at the time of booking or at vehicle pickup.
No deposit is required for standard vehicles unless otherwise specified in the rental agreement. A deposit is required for premium or high-value vehicles.
To extend the rental period, the renter must notify the agency at least 48 hours before the original rental period ends and pay the additional fees.
Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled pickup will be fully refunded. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee, as per the agency’s policy.

6. OFFENSES AND VIOLATIONS

The renter is responsible for any traffic, parking, or other violations incurred during the rental period.
The renter must inform the agency if they receive any fines or if the vehicle is impounded.
Administrative fees related to handling such offenses will be charged to the renter, in addition to the fines or penalties.

7. ACCIDENTS AND DAMAGE

In the event of an accident, the renter must collect all relevant information from other parties and witnesses. The renter should not admit fault or discuss liability at the scene. They must contact the rental agency immediately and, if necessary, report the incident to local authorities. A full accident report, along with any police documentation, must be submitted within two days (24 hours in case of theft).
The renter may be liable for covering excess damage costs if they are found at fault, in accordance with the vehicle’s insurance policy.

8. INSURANCE

All vehicles rented through MarHire Car Agadir are insured. Coverage may include accidents, theft, and fire, with varying excess amounts depending on the vehicle category.
In the case of an at-fault accident, the renter will be responsible for paying the applicable excess, as outlined in the vehicle’s insurance policy.
The following are excluded from insurance coverage:

  • Damage to the vehicle’s interior (e.g., upholstery, dashboard).
  • Theft or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle.
  • Theft of accessories such as GPS devices, car keys, or radios.
  • Damage to the vehicle’s underside or damage caused by reckless or negligent driving.
    Please refer to your rental agreement or contact the agency for specific insurance details.

9. USE OF VEHICLE

  • The vehicle must not be used for commercial passenger transport, carrying illegal goods, participation in races or sporting events, or towing other vehicles without permission.
    Only drivers specified in the rental agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle. Damage caused by unauthorized drivers will be the renter’s responsibility, and such drivers are not covered by insurance.
    Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement, with full liability for damages.

10. ONLINE PAYMENT

All payments are securely processed through the Interbank Electronic Payment Center (CMI). By choosing to pay online, you confirm that you have the necessary authorization to use your selected payment method.

In case of a fraudulent transaction, all agreements between you and your card issuer, as well as MarHire Car , will apply.
